Anzère

Not so long ago, only mountain dwellers had the chance to enjoy the fresh air of Anzere, and the peacefulness its surroundings. Today, this enchanting place and its community are a healthy haven, sprinkled with joie de vivre and charm. It is pure bliss to experience deep relaxation, to enjoy wonderful local wine and cheese and to forget the stress of everyday life.

In summer, you can walk along the many mountain paths, the Valais vineyards, or the Bisse d’Ayent, an irrigation canal that was built in 1442 and emblem of the CHF 100 banknote. The bisse bears witness to a time when living in the mountains was a daily struggle, and to a resilient spirit that our elders have passed on to us. In autumn, succumb to the mesmerising beauty of the yellow, green or orange larches, the sometimes-red vine leaves or the pure and fresh water of the mountain lakes. In winter, the more adventurous can ski down the pistes ‘Les Masques’, while those who are more cautious will enjoy the hilly slope named ‘Les Rousses’ and end up savouring a raclette, a wood-fired BBQ or a glass of Fendant at the restaurant. Whatever activities you choose, the Spa & Wellness centre will revive you throughout the seasons.

From tennis to cross-country skiing, Anzere’s privileged location in the heart of Valais also offers a whole host of activities nearby. Try shopping and playing golf in Crans-Montana or heliskiing in Verbier, enjoy the diversity of Val d’Hérens and take a round trip to Zermatt to get closer to the Matterhorn, or simply wander in the magnificent old town of Sion, its market and cultural traditions.

In short, Anzere has everything to make you smile.
